Iv never overclocked a system before. How hard is it 2?

Do you build systems 2 sell? What specs would I be looking at for 1k? Obv I dont want loads of junk extras and im sure u wouldnt build pc's with them anyway. Just case, psu, cpu+fan, ram, gpu, mobo, ssd. Iv got a 500gb external drive i can use for storage already.

Overclocking for the first time is pretty daunting I do admit. We do not supply overclocked computers due to warrenty issues. That would leave you with around Â£400 to spend on a GPU, HDD and PSU. I am sure we could find you something.
The spec's you have posted are alright, although I do not like the motherboard you have picked. Personally I'd never go with anything but an ASUS board.

how much difference would I see between a i7 930 2.8ghz and the same processor overclocked at 4ghz???

Depends on your cooling solution, so long as you get a good cooler (Zalman [iirc] or something like that if it's air) or water would be a great way to go. You'd see a very good return for your money. Google for CPU benchmarks, should be quite clear.

This is what im going to go with.
I know it could be faster but it comes in about right with my budget.

I will use my current akasa eclipse 62 case, dvd rewriters and hard drive for storage.
Might get a few new case fans though for a bit of silence.

Yeah that's a fair package. If you're overclocking yourself I would change the mobo for an ASUS Rampage 2 but it's up to you really. Also I can personally reccomend the Zalman CNPS10X Extreme CPU Cooler, for the price it is really good (would save you a few pennys). Also it has a remote control with totally adjustable speeds and is virtually silent (it's what I'm currently using, still saving up for water cooling!). Up to you though

Got the system built. Currently running my 2.8 @ 3.5. At max load its 67degrees, ambient temp is around 20. Mainly idoling at 40. Might look to tweak up a bit more. Not using load line calibration.

Might look to do the ram first though.
