lol aslong as your computer isnt 10yrs old it should really be fine. there are mobile phones around these days that can play games with more requirements than mir.
£200 = computer that can play mir easily.

LOL
It's a 2D games that dosn't even render graciphs like moden games.
The res would make no differance. If anything it would run better, as 99.9% of PC run in at least 1024 by 768.
The old mir res of 800 by 600 isn't supported by any website!
Drop your PC res to 800 by 600 and use your pc like that for an hour. I personally can't drop my screen res that low as i would lose 50% of my desktop icons.
Everyone is making a big deal out of playing the game in high res, when tbh, mir will now be on running in 1024 by 768, which isnt high res!!!!
Go to any gaming forums and you will see people moaning that they cant run call of duty 4 in 1900 by 1200, running @ AA x 8, as they only get 4 FPS!!!
Display resolution - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Less then 1% of internet users use 800 by 600 res, and those are prob the people who play mir:P
At the end of the day mir is going to be in the new res, and the only way, and i mean the only way you can moan about it, is if you run your PC in 800 by 600 mode 24/7, and i very much doubt you do, unless you are running windows 95 on a 486.
If mir is being bought up to date is such a problem for you, then *** off to any other mir server, as they are still running in 800 by 600, along with all the bugs that come with these mir servers.
I am closing this thread in 24 hours, so getting your moaning out of way within the next 24 hours and deal with changes.

The new version will eventually support user-chosen resolutions in addition to some (optionally enabled by user) enhanced visuals. There will most likely be some "zoom" feature, so that people playing on high-res screens won't end up squinting all the time and lower-res players won't be disadvantaged at all.
As far as the hi/lo resolution warfare goes, modern HD monitors are barely a quarter of the resolution of the so-called "low def" old CRT I use for multimedia. HD 1080 i/p = 1920x1080 pixels which is barely more than 2 "megapixels".
While I've not played with the graphics side of things yet, I''d imagine mir could easily be spread over a 4x4 grid of HD monitors (7680x4320 - 33 megapixels) if you really felt the need to do so, just using the stock onboard graphics on your pc/laptop. Think about how old C&C Red Alert 2 is, and how (un)demanding that was!
Personally if I was choosing a monitor just for this kind of game, I'd use a 5:4 aspect monitor to get close to that Game Boy Color (Pokemon/Zelda) experience... Which is making me wonder, would it be worth adding xbox360 controller functionality...

lmao at the xbox controller bit, would be a great addition though, i would give it a try.
