Need help with surround sound - spdif output

I'm having a HUGE problem with the surround sound on the P7P55D Evo board, it plays movies and etc in surround sound... But not games - Like Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 or Battlefield Bad Company 2, so this is a real bummer.

Anybody know where there might be a problem :/?

have you checked the sound confugurations in the game settings and made sure they are gonfigured for your soundcard etc etc..

also have you tried re-installing your soundcard?

It's all a fresh install and I'm just using the on-board spdif, it just wont work and I don't know any way I can properly test it other then Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2, in the Via HD audio deck the most I can set it up is just "set this device as windows default device" I can't go into anything deeper :/ and on call of duty just select "windows default device"
